Objectives

The Equipment Manager – Retina is a professional sales role responsible for driving growth and customer engagement across assigned accounts and territories. This position promotes Bausch + Lomb’s innovative surgical portfolio, including retina and vitreoretinal surgical equipment, related instruments, and disposable products. The EM builds strong relationships with key stakeholders, identifies new business opportunities, and delivers exceptional value through technical expertise and strategic sales execution.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed territory sales objectives through strategic selling, product demonstrations, evaluations, proposals, and in-services.
  • Lead sales efforts for platforms such as Stellaris Elite and other advanced technologies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, high-volume users, and decision-makers across hospitals, ASCs, teaching institutions, and managed care organizations.
  • Support Bausch + Lomb’s mission of “Providing the World’s Most Valuable Ophthalmic Experience” through outstanding customer service.
  • Represent the full portfolio of Anterior Cataract Surgery products, including capital equipment, disposables, accessories, and standalone technologies.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities.
  • Conduct competitive market analysis and respond proactively to market dynamics to protect and grow market share.
  • Provide ongoing technical and clinical support to ensure optimal use of Bausch + Lomb technologies, driving customer satisfaction and long-term success.
  • Foster effective working relationships with other B+L representatives in the region, especially the Surgical Account Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of territory activities, customer interactions, product evaluations, and demos using Salesforce CRM.
  • Manage territory expenses, sample accounts, and consignments responsibly in accordance with company policies.
  • Successfully complete formal training and certification programs in product knowledge and selling skills.
  • Participate in ongoing advanced and continuing education programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, business, or related field
  • 2–5 years of successful sales experience, preferably in ophthalmic, medical device (Phaco), or surgical sales.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven with the ability to work independently in a remote sales environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce CRM.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record.
