About the Role

Under the direction of medical providers, the Surgical Scheduler is responsible for scheduling surgical procedures, coordinating all pre- and post-operative appointments, and obtaining necessary authorizations. This role works closely with the clinical team, medical providers, and hospital staff to ensure timely care for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule surgical procedures in ORSOS
  • Schedule all pre- and post-operative appointments
  • Obtain authorization for procedures and appointments
  • Collaborate with clinical teams, medical providers, and hospital staff

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Two (2) years' experience working in healthcare OR two (2) years' experience working in customer service
  • Proficient PC skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Preferred Qualifications

  • AAS in an accredited Medical Office Assistant (MOA) program or equivalent
  • Knowledge of insurance referral processes
  • Basic computer skills (EHR, Excel, Microsoft Office)
  • Previous experience in OR scheduling
  • Current driver’s license

Pay

$17.98 - $25.17 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

  • Primary work shift: Day
  • Regular scheduled weekly hours: 40
