Surgical Coordinator

Summary

Captures all aspects of surgery scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Schedules inpatient and outpatient surgical appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
• Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities, surgeon, staff, and equipment.
• Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and to confirm appointments.
• Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• No prior experience required.
