Surgical Coordinator

Alliance Health System is seeking an experienced Surgical Coordinator to join our growing team. This hybrid position (after 90 days) provides a white-glove surgical scheduling experience for patients, arranging and organizing the surgical calendar while serving as a liaison between physicians, patients, and other entities.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and surgeries, send reminders to patients, and schedule emergency and add-on surgeries
• Understand surgical procedures, including necessary surgery duration, to properly maintain a surgical schedule
• Ensure all surgical cases are scheduled in a timely manner in accordance with the physician's directions
• Serve as a liaison between physicians, patients, and various other entities
• Demonstrate familiarity with varied insurance plans and medical terminology
• Work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with excellent follow-through and multitasking abilities
• Apply knowledge of departmental organization, functions, policies, and inter-relationships with hospitals/ASCs where physicians operate
• Communicate professionally and effectively with physicians, administrative staff, and patients
• Maintain flexibility, organization, and attention to detail while interfacing with a heavy patient volume

Requirements

• Familiarity with Prior Authorization, NJ Fault, and Workers' Comp
• Experience with Medical Clearance
• Good computer, telephone, and typing skills
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology, records, and coding
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Preferred)

Pay

$50,000 - $85,000 / year

Schedule

• Full-Time (Onsite with hybrid schedule after 90 days)
• Monday-Friday
• One location (Hybrid out of Matawan, NJ)
