Surgical Assistant II

About the role

The Surgical Assistant II works as a 1st or 2nd assistant to the surgeon and under the direction/supervision of that surgeon and in accordance with hospital policy and appropriate laws and regulations. The Surgical Assistant works as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team, collaborating with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assists the surgeon during surgical procedures
• Prepares surgical instruments and equipment
• Monitors patient vital signs during surgery
• Collaborates with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth surgical operations

Requirements

• Virginia Surgical Assistant License REQUIRED
• NBSTSA/NCCSA Certification REQUIRED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification REQUIRED
• 3 years Surgical Assistant experience REQUIRED

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a surgical assisting program

Pay

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
