Surgical Assistant - Certified
Overview
The Certified Surgical Assistant anticipates the needs of the surgical team, assists with tasks such as equipment selection, setup, retraction, cauterization, suturing, closure, medication instillation, dressing application, and splint/cast application. Duties also include preoperative and postoperative care to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.
Shift
Generally schedule would be 7a-3p, 7a-5p, or 7a-7p or a combination thereof. Shift may include: 11A-7P, 3-11P, OR 11A-11P. Call amount is dependent upon staffing, but is approximately 1-2 shifts/week and may be as little as 2 hours or as much as 12 including weekends and any holidays in rotation with other staff.
Requirements
- Graduate of CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) accredited Surgical Assistant Program
- Surgical Assistant license required for appropriate state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required
- Prior Surgical Assistant experience strongly preferred

- Education: Surgical Assistant Trade School Degree REQUIRED

Pay
Sign on Bonus up to $15,000 offered for qualified candidates.
