Surgical Assistant

About the role

The Denver Metro OMS is seeking a Surgical Assistant to join a busy specialty practice dedicated to improving patient experiences through world-class care.

Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent patient service and assist the dentist with administrative and basic dental tasks.
• Avoid the surgeon’s needs and assist as required during procedures.
• Keep surgical areas and instruments clean and sterilized.
• Maintain patient vitals and ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Prepare and provide post-operative instructions and materials to patients.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the surgeon or office manager.
• Facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• At least 1-2 years of experience as a surgical assistant, specialty preferred.
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
• Understanding of health & safety regulations.
• Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks.
• Good computer skills.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• A strong attention to detail.
• Well-organized and reliable.
• A high school diploma.
• Certificate from an accredited surgical assistant program (if required by law).
• An active state radiology license (if required by law).

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) or equivalent certification (if required by law).
