About the Role
Responsible for overseeing the entire process/daily functions of the Specialty Programs within the General Surgery service line, to include continuous development and evidence-based process improvement. Provides support and guidance for clinical policies and procedures as well as ensures compliance with appropriate regulatory agency requirements. Maintains responsibility for ensuring that the general surgery subspecialty programs and its components are compliant with appropriate accreditation standards of insurance payors and other national accrediting agencies.
Responsibilities
- Assists in managing the accreditation process and ensuring continuous compliance with General Surgery Subspecialty program requirements.
- Serves as the liaison between the institution, the General Surgery Subspecialty programs, and all surgeons performing general surgery at the institution.
- Assists in program development, collaborating with the Outcomes Coordinator in managing the accreditation process and ensuring continuous compliance with program requirements.
- Facilitates the development and implementation of new general surgery related services.
- Organizes and manages data collection and data formation.
- Performs statistical analysis of data, summarizes findings, and prepares reports.
- Develops and manages constant presence on social media and Patient Communication for the General Surgery Subspecialty Programs.
- Follows all department policies and procedures and ensures staff compliance.
- Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with administration, IT and clinical care teams through participation in the planning, development, evaluation, and maintenance of the Clinical Information Systems.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2 Years of Experience Working in the Clinical Environment with General Surgery
- Required Certifications/Licensure: Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of South Carolina
