Surgery Scheduler - Various Locations

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical procedures with multiple hospitals and surgery centers
• Schedule and obtain pre-operative testing
• Write and communicate surgery orders
• Collect necessary documentation for surgeries
• Work closely with patients, physicians, and surgery locations to provide accurate, timely, and responsive paperwork
• Provide non-licensed medical and scheduling support to medical providers in the care and treatment of patients

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency
• 1+ years surgery scheduling or related experience
• Strong knowledge of clinical / medical practice operations, procedures, medical terminology and administrative procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients and the public and be capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers
• Strong organizational skills
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with differing personalities on a daily basis
• Excellent professional communication skills, both verbal and written, exceptional interpersonal communication skills
• Advanced computer skills with proficiency with MS Office software, Medical Software use. Proficient with insurance portals
• Skilled in multi-tasking
• Proficient in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action
• Ability to exercise judgment and make decisions
• Ability to prioritize
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices
• Strong problem solving skills and sound judgment
• Fluency in Spanish preferred
• Ability to type 40wpm
