Surgery Scheduler - Neurosurgical Care

Primary Duties

• Schedules surgeries in accordance with availability of space, staffing and equipment, for surgical cases done at EvergreenHealth for inpatient, outpatient surgery center, and outpatient clinic procedures.
• Works cooperatively with the schedulers at EvergreenHealth surgical facilities.
• Obtains insurance prior authorizations.
• Obtains insurance benefits, including estimation of copays and deductibles and communicates same to patient.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

  Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • 2 years of scheduling experience in a medical environment
  • Strong medical terminology, including anatomy and physiology
  • Keyboarding: 45 words per minute
  • Possess spelling, punctuation, grammar and numerical skills
