About the role

The Surgery Scheduler Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the complex logistics of surgery scheduling, ensuring seamless alignment of resources, personnel, and services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Schedules all patient surgeries, along with any special procedures ordered for the Main Operating Room, Outpatient Surgery Center, and Off-Site Anesthesia cases.
  • In-depth knowledge of case duration, including the acuity of the patient and any additional time needed for trauma and other procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of fellows' and physicians' schedules and special needs, using this information to avoid scheduling conflicts.
  • Maintains familiarity with referring physicians and their staff, providing superior customer service to patients and physicians.
  • Understands and manages conflict scheduling to avoid errors.
  • Provides accurate scheduling information for both internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent
  • Hospital or outpatient scheduling experience, upon hire

Pay

The posted compensation range is $17.24 - $24.35 /hour, reflecting the reasonable estimate of what CommonSpirit Health might pay for this position based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit Health reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Schedule

Full-time position, 80 hours per pay period, Monday through Friday, with no remote work option.
