Surgery Housekeeper

Pay

SEIU Pay Range $21.20 to $31.40 Dependent on Experience

Responsibilities

• Ensuring staff have the equipment and supplies needed for their daily assignments
• Responding to service requests
• Assisting with training
• Minor equipment maintenance
• Helping cover sick calls
• Assisting with quality assurance inspections
• Other duties as assigned

The day-to-day activities must assure that facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner in accordance with current Federal, State, local, and facility standards.

Requirements

Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to:

• Provide exceptional customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills and effective in prioritizing tasks
• Ability to read and comprehend the various products and equipment used to provide cleaning services to the facility
• Comprehend isolation policies and signage documenting the type of infection they will be dealing with
• Identify and follow verbal and/or written instructions
• Strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of use of MSDS and hazardous material containment

License/Certification

Valid drivers’ license and auto insurance preferred

Education and Experience

Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques is preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Heavy physical effort (lifts/carry up to 50 lbs)
• Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking
• Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
• Exposure to housekeeping/cleaning agents/chemicals
• Work in precarious or slippery locations and high locations on ladders and scaffolding
• Must utilize PPEs appropriately and for long periods of time
