Surg Tech Intern
About the role
The Surgical Tech Intern at CHI Health Saint Francis will gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic perioperative environment. This role provides an unparalleled opportunity for students enrolled in an accredited surgical technology program to develop critical skills under the direct supervision of registered nurses and certified surgical technicians.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the planning and preparation of necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
- Contribute to circulating duties, assisting with patient prepping, positioning, and draping.
- Complete accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
- Support room turnover, patient transport, and specimen handling.
- Adhere to the highest standards of sanitation, safety, and patient confidentiality.
Requirements
- Student in good standing, having completed at least the second quarter of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Foundational knowledge of surgical procedures.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to a fast-paced surgical team.
- A current Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) certification.

The posted compensation range of $18.96 - $26.78 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
