Surg Tech Extern - PRN

• Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
• Has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
• Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
• Functions in partnership with licensed staff.
• Performs patient care duties for clients of various age groups under the direction of a Certified Surgical Technologist and/or a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

• Education: H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required; and a student currently enrolled in an Accredited Surgical Technologist program, in their last semester, and graduating within six months Required; or Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technologist program without a hands-on clinical rotation.
• Work Experience: No experience required Required.
• Licenses and Certifications: BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required.
