Surface Prep Technician (2nd shift, Mon-Fri)

Duties And Responsibilities

• Through our extensive in-house training program, (OJT) the successful applicant will be instructed via a series of computer based and hands-on training, the necessary skills of the position.
• Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Organize components staged in your department to support a more efficient schedule.
• Review router and operational sketches to identify the work to be performed.
• Gather and set up required tooling such as fixtures, gauges, and other items.
• Mask components as required to protect surfaces from subsequent operations.
• Trim masking using knives, razor blades, or other sharp tools.
• Trim masking in accordance with detailed work instructions to precise dimensions.
• Remove masking from components.
• Inspect work for completion and quality.
• Follow written work instructions accurately including engineered sketches and drawings.
• General housekeeping such as sweeping, organizing, and general cleanup.

Required Qualifications

• Careful attention to detail.
• Technical aptitude.
• The ability to learn to read and interpret shop drawings and diagrams.
• Capable of learning the use of measuring gages, such as micrometers and calipers and the understanding of basic shop math.
