Production Surface Prep Technician (day & afternoon shifts available)

About the role

Peninsula Powder Coating is hiring full-time Production Surface Prep Technicians to join their team in Baraga, Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to paint and prepare surfaces by removing dirt, rust, old paint, and grease using pneumatic, electrical, or mechanical tools.
• Clean blast booths.

Requirements

• Experience: Previous manufacturing or industrial experience is a plus, but we're happy to train motivated individuals with a great work ethic.
• Physical Abilities: You should be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds safely, as you'll be lifting and placing products for painting.
• Forklift Operation: Previous forklift operator experience helpful; we provide training if needed.
• Attention to Detail: We value precision, so being detail-oriented is essential.
• Team Player: You should be organized, reliable, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Deadline Driven: You can handle time constraints and ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality.

Qualifications

• $16.00 – $22.00 per hour starting pay based on your experience.
• Company provides a monthly stipend to put towards health insurance, if needed.

• Schedules may flex based on company production needs.
• Day shift: 7am – 3:30pm (Monday-Friday)
• Aftership: 3:30pm – 2am (Monday-Thursday)
