Surface Operator

Support operation of the backfill plant producing concrete and shotcrete products for underground mining operations. Operate the Coarse Ore Storage Area (COSA), Temporary Development Rock Storage Area (TDRSA), perform snow removal, and other duties to support operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment as needed
• Load over-the-road haul trucks to required weight using a WA500 Kamatsu Loader
• Complete pre-shift safety checklist on all assigned machines
• Manage material stockpiles
• Operate backfill plant through control room interface
• Inspect backfill and shotcrete material to ensure product quality
• Troubleshoot complications with the backfill plant
• Complete reports accurately and thoroughly
• Participate in operational and safety training
• Perform cleaning and minor maintenance
• Identify and report or correct safety hazards immediately
• Assist with underground haulage and utility crews when needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years of heavy equipment operating experience required
• Previous concrete, maintenance, or industrial experience preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Suite preferred
• Experience with SAP preferred
