Surface Mount Technician-2nd shift SMT

About the Role

Leidos’ Defense Systems Electronics Manufacturing is seeking a 2nd Shift Surface Mount Assembly Technician to join a team that operates SMT equipment producing a variety of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs). This role is part of the Defense Systems Sector, delivering enterprise and mission IT, intelligence systems, command and control, geospatial and data analytics, cybersecurity, logistics, training, and intelligence analysis and operations support for customers with “can’t fail” missions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain SMT machines, including Stencil Printer, Solder Paste Inspection, Pick & Place machine, Reflow Oven, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), and X-ray equipment.
• Understand and process various electronics packages such as 0402, 0603, and BGAs on an SMT line.
• Perform hand soldering of SMT and through-hole components, including work under a microscope.
• Achieve day-to-day production objectives with significant impact on output.
• Work independently under limited supervision while collaborating in a team environment with different functions, project teams, and production teams.
• Read and interpret drawings and follow work instructions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with 2-4 years of prior relevant experience in Surface Mount Technology or related electronics assembly.
• Knowledge of SMT processes used to build Printed Circuit Board Assemblies.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or prior certification in IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001.
• Experience with SMT equipment and hand soldering.

Pay

Pay Range: $48,100.00 - $86,950.00. The final compensation will be determined based on factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity.
