Surface Electrician

Overview

Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment, mobile equipment, and power distribution systems up to 13,800 volts.
• Achieve and maintain qualifications/training necessary to perform job scope.
• Conduct frequent inspections of work area to ensure safe working conditions.
• Follow written work instructions and adhere to company safety policies.
• Pass a Pulmonary Function Test to wear a respirator.
• Support surface mining and/or underground mining electrical activities at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalency is required.
• Five (5) years of relevant electrical maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial environment, or five years of industrial electrical training/education is required.
• At least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances.

Preferred Requirements

• Underground and mining electrical experience.
