SUPV RESPIRATORY

Position Summary

Supervises clinical staff in conjunction with performing clinician duties in a role model methodology. Coordinates daily work assignments and prepares schedule for clinical staff. Monitors staffing of each shift to ensure adequate number of personnel are scheduled to provide patient care. Assists with collection of quality assurance data. Provides direct communication to staff and management. Available to clinical staff as consultant and resource person. Evaluates patients as related to therapy; communicates results to other therapists, nursing staff and physicians when evaluation indicates need for change in treatment. Assumes responsibility of mentoring respiratory staff and orientation of new employees on shift worked. In conjunction with necessary departments, coordinate clinical competence of all personnel performing respiratory care procedures. Performs assigned tasks and uses equipment with skill and accuracy. Maintains clean work area. Conducts in-service education under the direction of the manager.

Minimum Education

None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience

A minimum of three (3) years' clinical experience.

Licensure Requirement

Licensed in the State of Tennessee as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with ABG endorsement, and valid RRT credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care is required.
