Supv (Melt)-2nd Shift

About the role

Supervises, administers, and performs operations within the department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Maintenance requisitions for any changeovers in setups.
• Schedule orders on machines to ensure the best possible delivery date.
• Ensure employees in the Extrusion department properly perform:
  • Safety and handling precautions
  • Set up procedures
  • Day-to-day operator procedures
  • Process controls
  • All inspection criteria
  • Verification of calibration of all laser mikes (checked once a week)
  • Weekly extruder shutdown
  • Complete and accurate record-keeping by employees

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent with additional college-level courses in a related area.
• Ability to perform inspection functions such as visual inspection to detect cosmetic defects and color differentiation of products.
• Four to six years of directly related experience, including at least two years as a supervisor.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality; unscheduled absences or tardiness will negatively impact production objectives.
