About the role

Join our team as a day shift, full-time Laboratory Histology Supervisor in Westwood, NJ. You will lead the histology department, overseeing staff who perform histology specimen preparation and testing specific to the pathology/histology department.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility and accountability for leading the histology department.
• Direct oversight of staff performing histology specimen preparation and testing.
• Apply current knowledge of pathology laboratory techniques and principles.
• Manage lab operations, including quality control, safety, and problem-solving.
• Demonstrate leadership skills in managing people and department shift operations.
• Utilize excellent customer service, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate Degree in Histotechnology, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a chemical, physical, or biological science.
• OR Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technician or chemical, physical, or biological science with more than 2 years of experience in a high complexity clinical laboratory.
• ASCP or equivalent certification (e.g., M(ASCP), H(ASCP), C(ASCP)) in a relevant area; certification must be maintained without lapse during employment.
• Experience as a Histology Technologist with current knowledge of pathology laboratory techniques and principles.
• 1+ years’ experience with high complexity testing in Pathology.
• Overall knowledge of lab operations, including quality control, safety, and problem-solving.
• Evidence of leadership skills in managing people.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a Histotechnologist.
• Previous experience in a leadership role.
• Experience with billing compliance, performance improvement, and regulatory standards.

Pay

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
