Job Summary
Accurately, tactfully, and positively instructs staff in methods of performing duties.
Promptly clears and sets cash registers.
Insures kitchen is secure prior to leaving at the end of the work shift.
Accurately and promptly inputs patient food service charges into the computer.
Directs cleaning of patient tray line area insuring standards of sanitation are met.
Performs routine sanitation inspection according to current policy.
Insures deficiencies found on sanitation inspections are taken care of in a timely manner.
Accurately provides on the job training for staff supervised.
Aids in the completion of orientation competency checklist for employees supervised.
Prepares performance evaluations for employees supervised that are thorough, objective and accurate.
Provides in-service education for staff supervised.
Coordinates service of gourmet meals.
Effectively handles problems with patients when necessary.
Promptly implements computer orders for late trays and special requests.
Ensures that patient nourishments are prepared and delivered on time.
Always marks menus neatly and with accuracy, when assisting Nutrition services clerk.
Correctly checks menus for diet accuracy.
Demonstrates ability to obtain and send pertinent information to and from the nursing units via the Patient Computer System.
Works on patient tray line efficiently.
Accurately checks patient trays for accuracy, appearance and consistency.
Sets up/checks all stations in a timely manner.
Supervises and assists in the preparation and delivery of late trays in timely manner.
Holds good knowledge of all modified diets.
Records refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
Follows procedures for substandard temperatures.
Insures temperatures of hot food are taken before tray line in a prompt manner.
Documents on performance improvements forms.
Corrects problems in substandard temperatures of hot or cold food.
Always works in such a manner that is a positive role model for fellow employees.
Understands and consistently follows all policies and holds other staff accountable to the same.
Demonstrates leadership in listening and handling employee concerns quickly, effectively, and fairly.
Demonstrates good rapport and respect with employees under immediate supervision.
Demonstrates teamwork and positive support in all interactions with or referring to fellow supervisors/management team members.
Qualifications
- 2 years experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
