About the role

This position provides professional nursing services to patients within a prison/jail or detention facility setting.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Supervises and directs the work of assigned associates in providing age-appropriate patient care.
• Coordinates care and assists inmates who become ill or injured.
• Maintains immunization records and monitors inmate health to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.
• Provides nursing care, health services, education, and guidance to clinic employees and coordinates care for the assigned correctional clinic facility.
• Affirms compliance with regulatory standards and policies, and ensures the delivery of appropriate clinical services.

Requirements

• One year of experience in a lead/supervisory capacity.
• Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.

Qualifications

• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Effective supervisory skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Effective assessment, evaluation, and resolution skills.
