About the role

This position provides professional nursing services to patients within a correctional facility setting.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Supervises and directs the work of assigned associates, ensuring the provision of high-quality patient care.
• Coordinates care for inmates who become ill or injured, including coordination of medical interventions and assistance with medical procedures.
• Maintains immunization records and administers necessary vaccines to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.
• Maintains a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff by monitoring inmate health and implementing infection control measures.
• Provides education and guidance to clinic employees regarding patient care, health services, and safety protocols.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and policies, and provides appropriate clinical services to all patients.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
• One year of experience in a lead/supervisory capacity.
• Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Effective supervisory skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Effective assessment, evaluation, and resolution skills.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screen, background check, and security clearance required.
