Suppression Service Technician

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Aid in the installation of piping, tubing, nozzles, detection lines, and releasing components for pre-engineered systems.
• Support inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) according to NFPA 17/17A/96 and manufacturer requirements.
• Assist with system functional tests and commissioning checks.
• Observe and document system layouts, component functions, and discharge sequences.
• Identify visible deficiencies and prepare tools, parts, and job sites for efficient execution.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in safe working condition.
• Ensure a clean and safe workspace; adhere to PPE and site requirements.
• Respond to service calls as directed.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment.
• Travel to job sites as required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
• Stand, walk, bend, and work for extended periods.

Other Duties

• Adhere to Pye-Barker Fire & Safety policies, safety standards, and code of conduct.

Pay and Benefits

Pay: $23/hr - $29/hr (Depending on Experience)

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license, if driving role.
Basic mechanical aptitude preferred.
