Job Summary
A Supportive Home Care Worker is needed in Post Lake, ELCHO, WI.
Job Requirements
The Personal Care Worker (PCW) will be trained in providing personal care services and each assigned skill, which may include:
- Assistance with bathing
- Toileting, including use of bedpan, urinal, commode or toilet
- Dressing and undressing
- Mobility and ambulating, including use of walker, cane and crutches
- Transfers, including bed to chair or wheelchair and reverse
- Changing of consumer's bed
- Laundering of bed linens and consumer's personal clothing
- Skin care (excluding wound care)
- Care of eyeglasses and hearing aids
- Light cleaning in essential areas of home during personal care activities
- Meal preparation and meal serving
Promptly report changes in the consumer's condition to the R.N. Case Manager. Complete all time sheets and documentation necessary to maintain program services in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner. Maintain confidentiality of consumer's information.
The position requires extensive hands-on personal care. The PCW must have:
- Familiarity with the philosophy and concepts of independent living
- Ability to understand and carry out consumer instructions
- Good communication skills
- Ability to relate well to others
- Good past employment references
- Physical strength sufficient to perform essential functions of the job
- Regularly sit, stand, and walk
- Use hands and fingers, handle, and feel
- Reach with hands and arms
- Bend, squat, twist, talk or hear
- Occasionally lift and/or move individuals using transferring techniques or assistive technology/equipment
A reliable vehicle or alternate means of transportation to the worksite is required. Completion of an interview and training conducted by PAS staff is also required. Satisfactory criminal background results are necessary.
