Supported Employment Direct Professional

About the role

Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources is seeking a Supported Employment Direct Support Professional to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Hattiesburg, MS.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized training and follow-up support services to enhance stability and job retention.
• Aid in daily activities and accompany consumers on outings in the community.
• Support treatment plans in partnership with clinical staff to improve the quality of life for those supported.
• Assist with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living).
• Train participants in skills and conduct daily activities, and document this training.
• Eat lunch on site with participants and take breaks on site.
• Help individuals learn skills for daily living appropriate to a home environment using pragmatic training techniques.
• Demonstrate the importance of community involvement, social interactions, and maintaining relationships.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Mississippi Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record (no moving violations within 3 years).
• Must be able to obtain a Class D license within 30 days of hire.
• Maintain auto liability limits of 100,000/300,000/50,000.
• Pass CPR, MANDT, and other required testing.
• Experience working with the IDD population preferred.

Qualifications

This is a full-time position. Weekend shifts may be required.

Skills

Previous experience as a job coach preferred.
