About the role

Disability Support Workers provide personal care, transportation and community participation support to people living at home or in residential settings. The role involves direct support and day‑program facilitation, ensuring participants feel listened to, valued and capable of achieving their goals.

Location

Coffs Harbour, NSW (with occasional travel across multiple sites).

Schedule

Casual employment.

Pay

Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 2 – $36.22 per hour plus superannuation and casual loading.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Provide transportation and support for community outings and day programs.
• Listen actively, celebrate achievements and encourage independence.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver person‑centred support.

Requirements

• Ability and willingness to provide personal care and support activities of daily living in a residential setting.
• High level of resilience and emotional intelligence.
• Strong communication skills and flexibility in alternative and augmentative communication, including active listening.
• Successful background check including NDIS Workers Check and/or Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Current driver’s licence (minimum P2) and willingness to travel as needed.
• Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR (HLTAID011).
• Personal mobile device meeting system requirements (iPhone 7 or later, or Android device released in the last three years).
• Right to work in Australia.
• Comprehensive car insurance and motor vehicle registration.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Disability Services (desirable).
