Support Technician

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technology support for District personnel and students in a friendly and professional manner
  • Perform troubleshooting and research toward the resolution of technology related problems
  • Configure technology equipment as directed to support instruction and proper operation of end-user workstations, print devices and networking equipment
  • Facilitate the deployment of technology equipment to District personnel
  • Aid in testing software and hardware
  • Perform on-site installation, support and troubleshooting at all district buildings
  • Maintain and order computer and printer supplies for designated buildings
  • Move technology equipment during the school year and over the summer for summer initiatives

Responsibilities common to all Technology Operations and Support Staff

  • Create and update Incidents & Service Requests in the District's support tracking system
  • Escalate unresolved problems to technical subject matter experts and/or supervisor
  • Assist with maintaining District equipment inventory data
  • Perform any other job-related duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technology or their designee

Position Hours

8 AM - 4 PM, Monday - Friday. 12 months (260-262 days), 7.5 hours/day

Schedule

Full-time 12-month position available in the Spring-Ford Area School District

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical support role. Must have strong problem-solving skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with network administration and troubleshooting
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software
