About the role

The PK/ESE Classroom Assistant is responsible for assisting the teacher in carrying out the requirements of the Individual Education Plans of exceptional students. The role requires attending a minimum of six (6) hours annually of PK/ESE in-service training offered by the ESE department. Work may involve occasional physical exertion or muscular strain, as well as exposure to disagreeable elements or job hazards with some possibility of injury.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED plus one of the following:
  • Associate or higher degree from an accredited college
  • 60 semester hours from an accredited college
  • Passing score of 464 or higher on the Paraprofessional Test
• $500.00 additional for 60+ semester hours (added to base salary)
• $750.00 additional for Associate or higher degree (added to base salary)
• Preferably 30 hours of Children and Family Services (CFS) Child Development Training
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential desirable

Pay

Minimum starting salary: $16.71 per hour
