Support Staff-Food Service Assistant (6.50 hours/day)

About the role

This position assumes responsibility for preparing or assisting in preparation, cooking, and serving a variety of foods in an elementary or secondary school food service program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals and snacks
• Serve food to students and staff in a timely manner
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards
• Follow food safety guidelines and procedures
• May assist in menu planning and development

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in food service or related field preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Good communication and customer service skills

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license may be required for transportation of supplies
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Skills

• Knowledge of food preparation techniques
• Basic computer skills (optional)
