Support & Stabilization Services - Occupational Therapist

About the role

Open Sky’s Support & Stabilization Services provide an array of services to support youth up to the age of 22 years and families that may be experiencing emotional and/or behavioral challenges. Services provided include groups, therapeutic services to help children remain in their home, preparation support for children reunifying with family, permanency support, skill building, increasing social connections, and providing families with community resources to meet basic needs.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the evaluation process by implementing delegated assessments and providing verbal and written reports of observation.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to youth and families in both individual and group settings.
• Demonstrate knowledge about evaluation results and provide input into the intervention plan, based on each youth’s needs and priorities.
• Provide training and assistance with the development of community integration, instrumental activities of daily living and activities of daily living skills.
• Identify sensory processing challenges and implement sensory diets and/or environmental adaptation as indicated.

Requirements

• Possess a current Massachusetts License and National Board certification as an Occupational Therapist.
• Previous experience working with youth and young adults with mental health challenges, required.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving history, required.

Qualifications

Must have a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

Skills

• Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and techniques.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals and families facing emotional and behavioral challenges.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
