Support Services Technician (Warehouse)

About The Position

The County of Riverside's Information Technology Department is seeking to fill one Support Services Technician vacancy to support the Inventory Management division in Riverside. Under general supervision, perform skilled and semi-skilled work in the repair and maintenance to receive, store, and issue a variety of supplies, tools, and equipment; to maintain record of repairs, minor maintenance projects, items received and issued; to load and unload freight, supplies and equipment; to assist in the installation mobile radio equipment, facsimile machines, and issuance of pagers; perform authorized repairs to communication/electronic equipment; and to do other related work as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of vents and air ducts.
• Performs minor repairs that only require limited tradesman knowledge.
• Monitor, and analyses building equipment and a variety of electrical and mechanical appliances; prepare work orders for repairs as necessary; enter and close out work orders.
• Maintains department inventory records; prepares requisitions; sorts and distributes incoming department mail; packages items scheduled for distribution to branch offices; receives, stores, and the routing of supplies, materials, and equipment delivery to various departments throughout the county.

Requirements

• Experience: Three to four years of experience in building maintenance and minor repair work.
• Knowledge: Basic techniques of receiving, storing, and issuing supplies and materials; basic techniques involved in inventory control.
• Ability: Perform semi-skilled minor maintenance work in the following areas: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, building plant operations; and minor vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid California Driver License is required.
• This position requires travel throughout Riverside County to deliver, install, collect, and transport County-issued technology equipment, furniture, and related materials.
• This position requires lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving pallets, boxed inventory items, furniture, technology equipment, assembling and installing office furniture such as desks and monitors, and transporting equipment to various County locations.

Inventory control practices, including tracking, receiving, storing, and maintaining supplies and equipment. Documenting transactions and maintaining accurate inventory and asset records. Assigning, tracking, and recovering technology equipment such as laptops, tablets, mobile devices, and related accessories. Using hand and power tools to assemble, repair, and install office furniture and equipment. Utilizing ServiceNow or similar work order, asset management, or ticketing software to track requests and maintain records. Possession of a Forklift (sit down) certification is highly desired.

Schedule

This position follows a 9/80 schedule 7am - 4:30pm. A successful Security Clearance conducted by the Sheriffs' Department is required for this position. The incumbent of this class is required to perform a variety of minor mechanical and maintenance work with limited supervision.
