Support Service Staff - Part-Time/On-Call
This is a Part-Time/On-Call position that provides supplemental staffing for our West Seattle and Federal Way Permanent Supportive Housing sites. This position may also provide support at our Severe Weather Shelters throughout King County when activated. Applicants must commit to working full shifts and be available for a minimum of 3 shifts per month.
About the role
Safe, habitable, and affordable housing is a basic need. The Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS) Housing Department provides direct service programs and resources to individuals and families through shelters, transitional housing, rental assistance, and homeownership programs. The Support Service Staff will support residents by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized space, and assist residents in accessing support services, community integration, life skill training, coordination of transportation, and other needed services.
Schedule
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Swing Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
- Overnight/Graveyard Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Requirements
- 1-year experience in homeless outreach or homeless services
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Ability to read and write in standard English
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Ability to prepare communications such as memos, emails, reports, and other correspondence
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Demonstrates cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of adults with multiple challenges
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
Non-profit experience strongly preferred.
