Responsibilities
- Makes sure every client is where they should be during the shift.
- Encourages clients to join in scheduled activities and facilities.
- Accurately records client actions and observations in daily progress notes.
- Prepares and serves appealing meals and snacks according to established menu plans and timelines.
- Accurately prepares, distributes, and documents medications per each client’s MAR and physician’s orders.
- Helps, instructs, and guides clients in carrying out daily tasks in accordance with their IRTS program and treatment plan.
- Teaches and serves as a model for clients on how to control their conduct and use practical coping mechanisms in the context of building relationships.
- Plans and engages clients in social skills activities with Support Coach and peers to encourage purposeful activity and reduce isolation.
- Consistently completes routine cleaning, housekeeping, and other assigned duties per Adult Residential Administrator or designee.
- Accurately finishes paperwork assigned before starting the following shift and shares any client problems or issues with supervisor when shifts change.
- Immediately contacts the Adult Residential Administrator (or designee) in case of client or staff injuries, deaths, suspected use or neglect, or other situations requiring notification.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Normal direct care environment.
- Requires evening and/or weekend work.
- Sometimes requires travel for appointments and community outings.
- Frequent standing, bending, stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity.
- Works under stressful conditions and works irregular hours.
- Requires use of a computer.
- TB test upon hire.
