Responsibilities

  • Makes sure every client is where they should be during the shift.
  • Encourages clients to join in scheduled activities and facilities.
  • Accurately records client actions and observations in daily progress notes.
  • Prepares and serves appealing meals and snacks according to established menu plans and timelines.
  • Accurately prepares, distributes, and documents medications per each client’s MAR and physician’s orders.
  • Helps, instructs, and guides clients in carrying out daily tasks in accordance with their IRTS program and treatment plan.
  • Teaches and serves as a model for clients on how to control their conduct and use practical coping mechanisms in the context of building relationships.
  • Plans and engages clients in social skills activities with Support Coach and peers to encourage purposeful activity and reduce isolation.
  • Consistently completes routine cleaning, housekeeping, and other assigned duties per Adult Residential Administrator or designee.
  • Accurately finishes paperwork assigned before starting the following shift and shares any client problems or issues with supervisor when shifts change.
  • Immediately contacts the Adult Residential Administrator (or designee) in case of client or staff injuries, deaths, suspected use or neglect, or other situations requiring notification.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Normal direct care environment.
  • Requires evening and/or weekend work.
  • Sometimes requires travel for appointments and community outings.
  • Frequent standing, bending, stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity.
  • Works under stressful conditions and works irregular hours.
  • Requires use of a computer.
  • TB test upon hire.
