Supply Technician Senior - Materials Management

About the role

Manages and maintains software replenishment systems. Works collaboratively with staff to assure department expectations are achieved while optimizing inventory and par levels. Performs stocking, distribution of all incoming supplies and equipment, and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Audits and manages replenishment system and resolves issues.
• Operates all replenishment system software and programs according to institutional and department policy and procedures.
• Facilitates physical set up of area including scales, controllers, downloaders, probes, shelf registration, mobile cart and computers.
• Monitors and reports expired stock and improper stock rotation; identifies issues and seeks resolution.
• Demonstrates ability to ensure TIC Compliance for stock storage.
• Stocks, maintains and controls inventory of supplies for assigned areas according to department policy and procedures.
• Delivers and verifies incoming shipments and/or materials to assigned destinations according to departmental policy and procedures.
• Orders required supplies for assigned areas according to departmental policies and procedures.
• Places purchase requisitions for special orders stock items as required according to departmental policies and procedures.
• In absence of a supervisor, may act as shift team lead, assigning work responsibilities and following up on task completion.
• Opens, picks, closes and distributes internal orders according to departmental policy and procedures.
• Adheres to required hospital standards relative to internal policies, OSHA, TIC and departmental policies and procedures.
• Assists with changes in the automated inventory system, adding and removing items from par locations, and/or adjusting par levels.
• Creates and submits daily system tracking report for all changes.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• One (1) year of experience stocking, loading, replenishing or distributing inventory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital supply work experience.

Skills

• Computer skills and the ability to work with related software programs.
• Microsoft knowledge and ability to navigate through spreadsheets/databases.
• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, stocking, and equipment and inventory management methods and procedures.
• Ability to review inventory utilization analysis reports.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with staff and upper-level management.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Physical and Environmental Demands

• Occasional exposure to high noise levels, heat, cold, and potentially dangerous equipment.
• Occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions (e.g., risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals).
• Occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours.
• Occasional travel to offsite locations.
• Occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature.
• Work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality.
• Frequent bending, crouching/stooping, pushing/pulling, reaching, standing, twisting, and walking (21% to 50% of the time).
• Occasional crawling, kneeling, and sitting (up to 20% of the time).
• Occasional lifting and carrying more than 100 pounds.
