Duties

  • Help Develops, coordinates, evaluates and executes various aspects of supply operations at the command level
  • Develops and maintains processes and procedures to account for all arriving material
  • Evaluates and plans projects through consideration of all legal authorities and changing official policy, operating officials’ views, program information and analysis and statistical data
  • Applies analytical techniques in evaluating problems, making recommendations and formulating plans for corrective actions
  • Identifies training and developmental needs of employees, providing or making provision for training as required

Qualifications

  • To qualify for a Supply Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.
  • To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
  • Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time in- grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.
  • Creditable specialized experience includes:
  • Providing technical advice and guidance to operating level personnel regarding interpretation of material management regulations, policies and procedures
  • Performing more complex functions associated with responding to problems and formulating plans for new mission, new initiatives or corrective action on all aspects of distribution
  • Conducting efficiency and effectiveness reviews of current operations/potential new missions, prepares economic analysis/business case analysis documentation and makes recommendations for changes
