About the role

The Demand Planner role at Tata Consumer Products Ltd is integral to the company’s strategy, specifically focusing on strengthening and accelerating the core business and creating a future-ready organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for all brands.
  • Act as the bridge between commercial ambition and operational reality, influencing stakeholders and driving planning discipline.
  • Gather information on factors that may impact demand, monitor actual sales performance against forecast, and refine forecasts based on changing customer promotional needs.
  • Lead demand planning meetings, prepare and present analysis, and ensure consensus upon a demand plan with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Planners.
  • Navigate complex business processes with understanding of upstream and downstream implications, and collaborate closely with Supply Planners to maintain up-to-date information on capacity, capability, supplier constraints.
  • Own product lifecycle management and distribution tracker, ensuring prompt updates in the system to avoid forecast inaccuracies.
  • Maintain and update forecast needs, re-align sales history, and manage planning tables and master data fields in SAP.
  • Provide item-specific input into the monthly S&OP process and ensure the flow of customer-specific demand plans through enterprise software tools.
  • Contribute to continuous enhancement in the long-term demand planning process, identify issues, and propose/implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Operations Management or Engineering.
  • 5+ years' experience in demand planning within FMCG businesses.
  • Strong forecast and supply planning experience.
  • Project management experience preferred.

Desirable Success Factors

  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and inventory.
  • Proficiency in using demand planning and forecasting software such as SAP/S4Hana, IBP, O9, Blue Planner, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis.
  • Proficiency in analyzing large sets of data and using data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau.
  • A self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
