Supply Chain Supervisor

Location: Beachwood, OH • Onsite 4 days a week

About the role

The Supply Chain Supervisor oversees all operational activity, including order entry, load planning, and load monitoring. This role supervises salaried associates, manages performance, participates in hiring, and engages directly with customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of salaried employees, including performance reviews, corrective action, and goal setting
• Provide detailed instruction to personnel via email and phone
• Act as the first level of escalation for customer inquiries
• Assist in new customer implementations
• Prioritize time-sensitive situations
• Schedule deliveries and provide excellent customer service
• Ensure customer KPIs are met daily and weekly
• Track shipments to ensure on-time delivery
• Handle rate negotiations with carriers on a spot-rate basis
• Analyze process data and drive continuous improvements
• Identify cost-saving opportunities for customers
• Ensure coverage for business needs during vacations, illness, or other absences
• Complete other projects as assigned by management

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain
• High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred)
• Previous supervisory experience
• JDA Transportation Management System experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Customer-focused with problem-solving and process-improvement skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time-sensitive situations
• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Ability to learn and operate various computer systems across platforms
• Leadership skills to develop a team of salaried associates
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with customers and colleagues
• Flexibility to work different shifts as needed
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential
• Willingness to travel as necessary and work at the specified location

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

• Ability to read, communicate verbally and in writing, and analyze information
• Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects
• Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 25 lbs/12 kg
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
