About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Production Planner to support manufacturing operations in Danbury, CT. The ideal candidate will have experience in production planning, scheduling, materials management, inventory optimization, and plant-level supply chain operations. This role will coordinate production requirements, material availability, capacity, and customer demand to ensure efficient manufacturing operations and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain weekly and monthly production schedules based on customer demand, forecasts, and manufacturing capacity.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules based on machine downtime, maintenance, material availability, and changing priorities.
  • Analyze inventory levels to maintain appropriate quantities of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
  • Use ERP/MRP systems to manage inventory, release manufacturing orders, and support production planning.
  • Coordinate with procurement and purchasing teams to ensure required materials are available for production.
  • Monitor material shortages and proactively resolve supply issues that could impact production.
  • Analyze production and supply chain data using MS Excel and SQL.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, optimize inventory, and improve on-time delivery and other KPIs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, sales, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Provide regular updates regarding production schedules, material availability, inventory, and potential risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, production planning, plant supply chain, materials planning, or a related environment.
  • Hands-on experience with production scheduling and material planning.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP or Oracle.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data analysis/reporting.
  • Experience with inventory management, purchasing/material coordination, and production operations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with manufacturing and cross-functional teams.
