Job Summary
Leonardo DRS EOIS is seeking a Supply Chain Obsolescence & Component Management Specialist to support proactive management of component and material obsolescence across programs.Job Responsibilities
- Monitor component lifecycle risk using Silicon Expert and supplier notifications (PCN, EOL, LTB, allocation).
- Identify and assess obsolescence risk across BOMs, programs, and suppliers.
- Support evaluation of alternates, second sources, last-time buys (LTB), and redesign options.
- Carefully coordinate lifecycle risk reviews and facilitate cross-functional alignment on mitigation paths.
- Apply buyer and sourcing expertise to assess availability, lead time, supplier constraints, and risk, without executing POs.
- Coordinate with Procurement to support approved sourcing or LTB actions.
- Engage suppliers for lifecycle status, availability windows, and technical data.
- Support supplier qualification activities in coordination with Supplier Quality and Engineering.
- Provide lifecycle risk inputs to Program Managers and MPMs for cost, schedule, and risk assessments.
- Support ECO/ECP planning by providing material and supplier impact analysis.
- Aid in preparation of customer communications, ECPs, and program risk reporting related to obsolescence.
- Participate in design reviews (PDR, CDR, PRR, SRR) to support lifecycle risk awareness.
Data, Documentation & Governance
- Ensure lifecycle data and BOM content are accurately reflected in Silicon Expert (Engineering-owned data).
- Maintain obsolescence documentation, analysis, and decision records in approved repositories.
- Support audit readiness and compliance with internal procedures (OP-1030, OP-1695, WI-1658, etc.).
- Contribute to continuous improvement of EOIS obsolescence management processes and tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Buying, Procurement, or Material Management in a regulated or manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of BOM structures, lifecycle concepts, supplier management, and material planning.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Strong collaboration skills across Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program teams.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience supporting DMSMS / Obsolescence Management in defense or aerospace.
- Familiarity with Silicon Expert or similar lifecycle tools.
- Experience working with Engineering Change processes (ECO/ECP).
- Understanding of government contracting and sustainment environments.
- Prior Buyer experience (transactional or strategic).
