Supply Chain Manager, Strategic Engagement Partnerships, Global Procurement Sustainability, GPO
About the role
Amazon’s Global Procurement Sustainability (GPS) team is transforming procurement into a catalyst for global impact, advancing environmental stewardship, economic opportunity, human rights, and community resilience through purpose-driven sourcing.
Strategic Engagement Partnerships
We are seeking a leader to architect and lead GPS’s external engagement strategy at scale. This is a highly visible, executive-facing role for a leader who can translate vision into influence, building partnerships, shaping policy, and positioning procurement as a lever for systemic change.
Global Procurement Sustainability (GPO)
You will serve as the connective force across all four GPS pillars, designing integrated engagement strategies that amplify impact across suppliers, governments, industry alliances, and global stakeholders. This role blends strategy, diplomacy, and execution requiring both executive presence and operational rigor.
Key job responsibilities
- Spearhead or contribute to the design and execution of a global engagement strategy that advances responsible procurement priorities across Amazon’s Global Procurement Organization.
- Establish governance, communication, and reporting frameworks that enable alignment, scalability, and measurable impact.
- Develop and drive a comprehensive external impact and recognition strategy across Supplier Development & Impact, Community Impact, Social Responsibility & Human Rights, and Environment.
- Translate data into compelling narratives, executive briefings, and stakeholder-facing outputs that elevate thought leadership and demonstrate measurable outcomes.
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with governments, NGOs, corporate partners, academic institutions, and industry alliances.
- Structure collaborations that expand inclusive supplier ecosystems, strengthen human rights practices, and accelerate environmental sustainability goals.
- Serve as a key liaison to Government Affairs and public sector stakeholders, influencing policy initiatives related to economic inclusion, responsible sourcing, and sustainable procurement standards.
- Design and lead multi-stakeholder activations—including supplier summits, policy roundtables, and industry forums—ensuring seamless execution and clear impact measurement.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across GPS pillars and internal teams, ensuring consistent external messaging, streamlined supplier engagement, and integrated delivery of global sustainability objectives.
A day in the life
You start your day reviewing partnership performance metrics and preparing for an internal session designed to align partnership strategy to multiple pillars simultaneously. Mid-morning, you collaborate with industry partners to design an initiative that advances responsible procurement goals. After lunch, you brief leadership on partnership impact internally and externally and recognition progress. Your afternoon includes coordinating stakeholder participation for a global summit, reviewing event performance insights, and refining messaging for an industry keynote. Throughout the day, you balance strategy and execution, connecting stakeholders, advancing partnerships, and driving measurable impact across GPS and GPO priorities.
