We are seeking an experienced Senior Supply Chain Manager to lead end-to-end supply chain operations for a manufacturing operation in Buffalo Grove, IL. This role will oversee production planning and scheduling, inventory management, warehouse operations, and support procurement and sourcing activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing supply chain background with the ability to analyze data, optimize resources, improve material flow, reduce costs, and drive operational excellence. This position will work cross-functionally with production, procurement, logistics, and operations teams to ensure materials and resources are available to meet business and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic supply chain planning processes to optimize production schedules and resource allocation.
- Analyze demand forecasts, production capacity, and inventory levels to create balanced production plans.
- Lead master production scheduling and coordinate with operations teams to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and material flow.
- Provide leadership and oversight of warehouse operations with a focus on safety, accuracy, productivity, and on-time delivery.
- Evaluate warehouse processes, storage layouts, order fulfillment, and material handling to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Utilize ERP/MRP and WMS systems to improve inventory control, visibility, and operational efficiency.
- Support procurement and sourcing activities, including supplier performance, cost competitiveness, material availability, and risk mitigation.
- Monitor supply chain KPIs and implement initiatives focused on service levels, cost reduction, inventory optimization, and operational performance.
- Apply lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to improve supply chain processes.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives involving supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and operations.
- Provide leadership and development to team members while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Analyze operational data to identify issues and make informed, timely decisions.
- Adapt supply chain strategies and processes to changing demand and operational requirements.
- Travel approximately 10% as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 10+ years of related experience in Supply Chain Management.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end supply chain processes in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience with production planning, scheduling, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
- Experience with inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Strong understanding of ERP/MRP and WMS systems.
- Experience supporting procurement, sourcing, supplier performance, and material availability.
- Knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience using KPIs to identify issues and drive operational improvements.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
- Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail related to inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and safety.
- Ability to make timely decisions and develop creative solutions to complex operational challenges.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10%.
Pay
$131,000-$165,000 annually
