About the Role

The Senior Manager works collaboratively within a team of highly qualified Performance Transformation consultants to deliver performance improvement for healthcare organizations. This position will primarily be responsible for performing billable work for clients, providing leadership by driving engagement results, managing client relationships, overseeing development of client deliverables and solutions, and supporting business development opportunities.

The Senior Manager delivers consulting services while supervising, mentoring, and developing staff, and serves as a subject matter expert on engagements as needed. This role includes participation in sales and business development activities such as sales calls, RFP responses, and preparation of statements of work.

Responsibilities

  • Execute, direct, and oversee all aspects of client engagements, including client relationship management, analytical oversight, quality assurance, and deliverable development.
  • Manage the budget, expenses, and profitability of assigned engagements.
  • Manage, mentor, and evaluate staff assigned to engagements.
  • Oversee data analyses, interpret results, and develop verbal, written, and graphic presentations that communicate strategy and outcomes.
  • Oversee clinical initiatives for the practice and provide guidance and quality assurance for practitioners.
  • Assist in building out clinical supplies and clinical variation product lines for the practice.
  • Execute engagement plans in accordance with the statement of work to meet client satisfaction.
  • Engage with clients professionally and ethically, representing the organization.
  • Participate in risk and issue identification and mitigation.
  • Lead and participate in practice development and methodology/tool development activities.
  • Mentor and counsel staff within the practice.
  • Identify market opportunities and communicate potential leads to leadership.
  • Contribute to sales presentation deliverables and leverage relevant tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Complete annual training requirements and aid in developing training materials.
  • Maintain utilization targets for client billable projects.
  • Actively participate in add-on sales and new business development opportunities.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required).
  • Master’s degree and/or additional certifications (RN, MBA, ASA, ABV, CVA, CFA, CPA, etc.) (preferred).
  • 7 years of applicable experience in Supply Chain, Health Systems Finance, Operations (clinical, support, or operations), Pharmacy, Operational or Strategic Consulting, Strategic Planning, or Decision Support Analytics (required).

  • Demonstrated depth of knowledge in a specific area of expertise (e.g., subject matter expert in clinical-related areas).
  • Ability to build, maintain, and grow client relationships.
  • Coordinate and deliver effective presentations (verbal and written) to client audiences.
  • Ability to conduct thorough analyses and oversee the production of client deliverables on time and on budget.
  • Ability to mentor and grow team members within the practice.
  • Lead work groups to successful outcomes.
  • Manage time effectively for self and others on the workstream.
  • Quality assure the work of others.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exercise mature judgment in decision-making.

Supply Chain Performance Transformation Qualifications

  • Proven ability to successfully manage Supply Chain margin improvement engagements.
  • Ability to facilitate difficult initiatives with clinicians and physicians.
  • Provide guidance and critical insight to team members on clinical and purchased services initiatives.
  • Risk mitigation management and guidance on crucial conversations with stakeholders.
  • Guide negotiation strategies and participate in negotiations with suppliers on behalf of clients.
  • Understand and guide the supply chain team in achieving SOW goals, including cross-over workstreams.

Travel and Other Requirements

This position requires travel of 70% or more. Candidates with healthcare Supply Chain provider, GPO, or distributor experience are preferred.
