Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all site supply chain functions, including strategic sourcing, procurement, contract development, vendor management, inbound logistics, warehouse operations, and inventory management.
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with operational, cost, and business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the on-site supply chain team.
- Manage supplier and contractor relationships, with a focus on regional vendors across Phoenix, Tucson, and the western United States.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to maximize value, quality, and service.
- Ensure the timely availability of critical materials, equipment, and services to support continuous mining and plant operations.
- Drive inventory optimization, working capital improvements, and supply reliability.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and finance to support site performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor supply chain KPIs and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of progressive supply chain experience
- Proven experience managing purchasing, contracting, logistics, and inventory control within a mining environment.
- Strong knowledge of mining supply chains, including MRO materials, capital equipment, contractor services, and regional supplier networks in Arizona (particularly Phoenix and Tucson).
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP (preferred), Ellipse, Maximo, JD Edwards, Pronto, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated success leading site-based teams, negotiating complex supply and service contracts, and driving operational improvements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on strategic execution, cost control, supplier relationships, and operational reliability.
- Experience with major mining companies (e.g., copper, gold, or large-scale open-pit operations)
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience), and CPSM, CSCP, or similar certifications are considered assets.
