Job Description

The Operations Planning Manager is responsible for balancing customer demand with operational capabilities. Key responsibilities include setting up and improving replenishment plans, tracking forecast accuracy, defining inventory and safety stock standards, and ensuring on-time-in-full-no-errors (OTIF) performance. The role involves leading, coaching, and developing scheduling and logistical teams, enhancing safety standards, and managing raw material planning for a 7-day continuous operation.

  • Support Lead Team objectives such as Safety, Quality, Cost, Engagement, and EBITDA.
  • Establish the overall replenishment plan.
  • Track forecast accuracy.
  • Define inventory and safety stock standards.
  • On-time-in-full-no-errors (OTIF) performance measurement and communication.
  • Lead, coach, and develop scheduling and logistical teams.
  • Enhance safety standards, procedures, and culture for the logistical and warehouse team.
  • Track, order, and optimize finished goods and raw material inventories.
  • Schedule Raleigh production demands for a 7-day continuous operation.
  • Manage offsite warehouse and logistics between plant and warehouse.
  • Plan raw materials for the yearly budget cycle.
  • Manage results through others and personal productivity.
  • Manage order requirements through an outside sales organization and offsite customer service organization.
  • Meet customer needs while maintaining an efficient process.
  • Maintain the balance between customer demands and operational capabilities.
  • Set up systems for future Raleigh state to include increased volume and equipment.

Education And/or Experience Requirements (Qualifications)

  • Four-year degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Paper Science, or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Two to five years of relevant experience as a leader in operations planning.

Physical Requirements And Work Environment

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions.
  • Able to communicate and exchange information with teammates.
  • Able to operate office equipment including desktop computers, handheld devices, photocopiers, scanners, facsimile machines, and voicemail systems.
  • Able to work flexible shifts to meet production support needs.
  • Sit 5-8 hours a day.
  • Able to lift to 30 lbs.
  • Able to sit, stand, stoop, squat, climb, reach, grasp, grip, carry, and maneuver around an office and the production floor.
  • Able to work on manufacturing production floor and wear all required safety equipment.
