Supply Chain Intern - Virginia Tech Athletics
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Supply Chain Intern to support our food and beverage operations during the football season. This internship offers hands-on experience in inventory management, vendor coordination, and logistics planning within a fast-paced event environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring product availability and operational efficiency during game days and large-scale events.
Responsibilities
- Assist with inventory tracking, ordering, and restocking of food and beverage items across multiple stadium locations.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to ensure timely delivery and accurate counts of game day supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels before, during, and after football games to prevent shortages or overages.
- Help manage receiving processes, product rotation, and shelf-life checks in storage and concession areas.
- Support logistical planning and setup for food and beverage operations during football games.
- Conduct post-event inventory audits and provide data analysis to improve forecasting and purchasing decisions.
- Assist with documentation and reporting, including usage logs, waste reports, and delivery discrepancies.
- Participate in process improvement projects related to supply chain and game day operations.

Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Strong interest in sports operations, food & beverage logistics, and/or stadium event management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work game day hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $16.00.
