About the role

As a member of the METEM team within GE Vernova, you will contribute to delivering cleaner, more accessible energy by working on advanced machining technologies. Depending on your background and skillset, you may engage in one of the following areas:

• Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) and Fast Hole Drilling (FHD): Gain experience in non-traditional machining technologies and methods, including drilling into super alloys to support turbine nozzles and buckets. (Majors: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Material Science Engineering)
• Electrochemical Machining (ECM): Apply engineering and chemistry skills in an industrial electrochemistry application, providing a foundation for future growth in areas such as battery and fuel cell manufacturing and research. (Majors: Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering)

Responsibilities

• Drive business priorities related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost across your assigned product portfolio.
• Manage out-of-flow inventory (MRB, NC, braze repairs, re-coat).
• Drive Built-in-Quality implementation and sustainability for your assigned product portfolio.
• Reduce defects, scrap, and rework through daily management, stop work, problem solving, and Layered Process Review.
• Collaborate with Design Liaison Engineers to manage the Material Review Board process, including defect reporting and disposition by customer where required.
• Drive continuous improvement projects in Manufacturing & Quality departments.
• Conduct training for quality processes as needed.
• Maintain Quality Management System procedures, perform audits, and direct calibration actions.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in one of the following disciplines: Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Authorization: This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics

• Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).

Pay

$21.00/hour – $34.00/hour (based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed).
