About the role
The Supply Chain Excellence Manager supports the Polyurethanes Division in The Woodlands, TX. This role reports to the Sr. Manager - Supply Chain Excellence.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate core operational/business activities using Intelligent Lean tools, techniques, and Digital/automation tools/frameworks to eliminate non-value-added activities and improve supply chain performance.
- Own the governance and community of practice for Continuous Improvement & Problem-Solving, connecting with process owners, data scientists, operational & tactical teams.
- Develop and manage supply chain breakthroughs in performance by leveraging industry best practices, key innovations, and other methods to accelerate current performance.
- Develop, drive, and lead the supply chain digitization strategy and initiatives.
- Manage two direct reports, overseeing the full employee cycle of performance management, goals and objectives, mentoring, and development.
- Assess the Supply Chain process maturity, identify gaps, and develop/implement improvements.
- Coordinate Supply Chain initiatives and objectives in alignment with organizational goals and strategies.
- Identify targets and metrics to ensure capabilities and capacity are in place to effectively deliver on all Supply Chain performance commitments.
- Apply metrics to measure and ensure that process improvement initiatives deliver value.
- Utilize analytical skills to present recommendations on how to achieve business objectives.
- Utilize collaborative listening and facilitation skills to enable the best strategies and implementation planning.
- Inspire action without relying solely on authority.
- Exhibit strong personal accountability and a willingness to engage others to ensure delivery of objectives.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practices, process improvements, and actions that will deliver improvements in business performance.
- Define current state situation, assess gaps in process, capabilities, and talent, while assisting in the development of the future state in line with strategic plans.
- Drive tangible and measurable improvements of key processes through leadership, training, and mentoring.
- Identify and share best practices across different organizational locations.
- Ability to interact with various levels of management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, preferably in a supply chain, technical, or business field.
- A minimum of 10 years of industry experience, preferably in chemicals.
- Experience in driving process and business efficiencies from Process & Data mining tools such as Celonis is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the digital / technical landscape of Supply Chain software/tools is highly desirable.
- PowerBI experience is desirable.
- APICS certification CPIM/CIRM is a plus.
- Experience with databases, query/reporting tools is a plus.
- SAP experience is a plus (SD, MM, PP, TMS).
